Welcome to Simply Smart’s
Takeoff with Reading
A program so simple even 2 and 3 year olds have
successfully learned to read & spell.
Why Families & Tutors Love Simply Smart's
Takeoff with Reading?
- Teach Children As Young as 2 or 3 to Read: Even young children love lessons and activities. Lessons are short, clear, fun and engaging. Each concept builds on past ideas, so there are no "jumps" or gaps in what they learn.
- Learn to Blend Early: As soon as a child learns their first 4 letter sounds, they start blending letters together to make words. They do not need to learn letter names or the order of the alphabet to start reading.
- Lowercase Animal Letters Speed Learning: Initially, "animal letters" are used to remind children of the sound each letter makes, so they can start reading faster. Lessons first focus on lowercase letters, since around 98% of letters in books are lowercase.
- Physical Movement Increases Memory Retention: Each letter sound has an associated "dance move." The "dance moves" make reading more fun, increase memory retention and make it easier to assess when children have mastered concepts.
- Launch Into Chapter Books Faster Using Phonics: Rather than having to memorize thousands of words, children are taught to use phonics to decode words. Even one phonics rule can enable children to read hundreds of words. Around 96% of common words can be decoded using this program.
- Adaptable: Activities can be adjusted to match the child's attention span. The structure makes it easy to focus on concepts the child needs to master or review.
HOW IT WORKS?
Easy as 1-2-3!
Watch Video or Use Lesson Flipbook
- Start Reading In First Lesson: After learning just 4 letter sounds, children start reading.
- Clear & Concise: Each lesson is short, introducing just 2-4 letters or phonetic concepts.
- Physical Movement: Children learn a "dance move" for each letter sound, making reading more fun & increasing memory retention.
- Mystery Code: Each video has a hidden letter children can find to solve a secret code & unlock a concealed video.
Play Games to Practice
- Flashcards: Students love using picture flashcards to read words. The picture on the back allows children to check if they read the word correctly & to practice on their own.
- Animal Letter Tiles: Play games using our innovative animal letter tiles. The animal letters help children remember letter sounds, so they can start reading faster.
- Ready to Go Games: Enjoy playing short, fun reading games using our ready to go kits. One of our kids' favorite games is the car race. Read the word and watch the car speed away!
Read Books
- Length Gradually Increases: Stories start using around 20 words, perfect for short attention spans. They gradually get longer & more complex until children are ready for chapter books.
- Children Can Decode Words: Each word is explained prior to using & can be decoded using phonetic concepts that have been learned.
- Sticker Chart: Children love tracking their progress using the Magic Key Book Charts. Each time a child reads a book, they get to add a sticker to their chart.
