Phonics Level A contains 8 easy lessons. In each lesson, children learn 3-4 new letter sounds that are used to practice blending. Using this incremental approach, learning to read is simple and non-intimidating.
Animal letters are initially used to help children remember the sound each letter makes, so they can start reading faster.
From the beginning, children are taught to stretch and “sing” each letter’s sound, so they can start blending faster.
For each letter, children use a “dance move” or hand sign to help remember the sound. Using physical movement speeds learning, makes reading more fun & assists parents in identifying learning gaps.
This program teaches children the rules for decoding around 96% of common words in simple, easy to understand terms. All words contained in the lessons and readers are words that children can sound out using rules they have learned.
High frequency words are emphasized.
In Phonics Level A, children are taught how to blend with all 26 letters. In Levels B and C, children are taught additional rules that help them to decode around 96% of common words.
